Description
Hurricane Ian slammed into Florida’s west coast as a category 4 storm. It moved inland then northward leaving behind a trail of devastation. I was lucky. My home was spared the worst of the storm. Still, we saw the eyewall pass over us with winds up to 120 MPH. My house fared well, just minor roof damage.
This pic is just up the road where trees along a main road suffered heavily. These palms are in the median of a divided boulevard. There were six of them. Now just four still stand though not for long as they will most likely need to be removed.
There was no wind when this was taken. The winds were so strong as they came through that many trees appear flattened on the side the wind was strongest. You can see one palm in the background that suffered this fate.
As a side note I did not go out taking pictures of the devastation. It is simply too much to bear. I took pics of my home for insurance purposes of course, but the only other pics I took were as I was walking back to my house to see what damage it had sustained.
