Many say that Florida is not really southern because we have so many transplant residents from the north. I always ask them to take a trip with me to Plant City. This small city in the heart of Florida is a slice of our southern past. While the State Street Theater is not a theater these days, the sign harkens back to a time long forgotten in other parts of the country.
