Years of wave action has eroded the shoreline of Stump Pass Beach State Park leaving behind dead trees and stumps. Hmmm. Wonder if that has anything to do with the name? This is the roots of one of those dead trees, rising from the sand. Normally I don't do artistic angled horizon shots, but it just seemed right in this case.

My true passion is photography. Since I am not good at drawing or painting photography really lets my creative side loose. Originally from Rochester, New York, I've called Florida home for almost 40 years. Other interests include hiking, traveling and especially cruising. These activities are always finding me new things to photograph. My photographic philosophy is to show people things they pass everyday but never notice.
