Artist's Description
Punta Gorda's Ponce de Leon park is a tribute to the explorer that legend says discovered the Fountain of Youth in Florida. While there is no evidence that ever actually happened, there is historical evidence that he explored the outhwest coast of Florida including Charlotte harbor, where the park is located.
This shot was taken at the time of high tide. Last time I visited the park there was a very low tide and we walked along this shoreline.
