Egmont Key sits at the mouth of Florida's Tampa Bay. It has been home to a fort with a small ton. Both are long abandoned. The lighthouse still stands and the tiny island is now a State Park. Years of erosion have shrunk the park and some of the buildings have succumbed to the waters. Part of the island is a bird preserve, off limits to visitors. Since i is an island the park can only be reached via boat. Not to fear, a ferry can take you out (and back) from Fort DeSoto Park so you can enjoy the beaches, trails and ruins.
My true passion is photography. Since I am not good at drawing or painting photography really lets my creative side loose. Originally from Rochester, New York, I've called Florida home for almost 40 years. Other interests include hiking, traveling and especially cruising. These activities are always finding me new things to photograph. My photographic philosophy is to show people things they pass everyday but never notice.
