The east coast of Florida is very different from the west coast. The Atlantic Ocean is deeper and cooler than the Gulf of Mexico. The waves of the Atlantic are often larger meaning better surf. The pier at Cocoa Beach is a favorite among surfers even as storm clouds approach.
