Artist's Description
This is Caspersen Beach in Venice, Florida. The beach has seen many changes in the 40 years I have lived in the area. Back when I first came here one could see the Gulf of Mexico from the road. Now sand dunes topped with palm trees and sea grapes block the view. That's not a bad thing for they help protect the shoreline from storms moving along the coast. The jetties that once helped slow wave action are mostly gone, the giant rocks washed up onto the beach. A boardwalk has been added to allow access across the dunes. It is still a favorite spot of mine.

My true passion is photography. Since I am not good at drawing or painting photography really lets my creative side loose. Originally from Rochester, New York, I've called Florida home for almost 40 years. Other interests include hiking, traveling and especially cruising. These activities are always finding me new things to photograph. My photographic philosophy is to show people things they pass everyday but never notice.
