I found this little blue heron hanging out with some other birds at a small pond in the dunes of Stump Pass Beach State Park. The park, located in Englewood, Florida had been closed due to damage from Hurricane Ian. This was my first trip to the park after it had reopened. The park was always changing due o erosion and salt water intrusion that killed trees, but this change was unexpected. There are no more large trees in the park, at least living ones.
My true passion is photography. Since I am not good at drawing or painting photography really lets my creative side loose. Originally from Rochester, New York, I've called Florida home for almost 40 years. Other interests include hiking, traveling and especially cruising. These activities are always finding me new things to photograph. My photographic philosophy is to show people things they pass everyday but never notice.
