Many of Florida’s beaches have sand dunes to protect the shoreline from wave action during storms. Venice Beach is one such spot. Vegetation has been planted on those dunes to offer even more protection. While it does help protect from erosion, they can block views of the beach and Gulf of Mexico.
Here the lifeguard stand is framed by palms. While the beach was closed due to Covid19, the stand was still manned as evidenced by the surf board and no swimming flags. Must be a bit boring since the beach is void of visitors.
My true passion is photography. Since I am not good at drawing or painting photography really lets my creative side loose. Originally from Rochester, New York, I've called Florida home for almost 40 years. Other interests include hiking, traveling and especially cruising.
