Description
One of the biggest threats to the survival of the Florida Everglades is invasive species of plants and animals. This is water lettuce, a plant introduced to Florida most likely by Spanish settlers in the 16th or 17th century. Now it clogs the waterways growing into a mass of floating leaves.
