The lighthouse on Egmont Key is the only structure still intact on the tiny island at the mouth of Florida's Tampa Bay. Other buildings including a fort are in ruins, with some of those ruins washed into the bay by erosion. The structure is part of a state park and while the light still shines, the building and other out buildings used by the rangers are not open to the public. The island is only accessible by boat and offers no facilities for visitors. A privately operated ferry runs from Fort DeSoto park a couple times a day.
My true passion is photography. Since I am not good at drawing or painting photography really lets my creative side loose. Originally from Rochester, New York, I've called Florida home for almost 40 years. Other interests include hiking, traveling and especially cruising. These activities are always finding me new things to photograph. My photographic philosophy is to show people things they pass everyday but never notice. I look forward to your feedback as I am still growing as a photographer and will never be done learning.
