Summer is rainy season in Florida with afternoon showers almost every day. In the winter there is little rain. The contrast can create havoc on plant and wildlife.Here an oak tree has fallen over among palm trees in Myakka River State Park outside Sarasota, Florida.
At the peak of rainy season this area could be under a foot or more of water. This part of the park would be closed.
