Description
Myakka River State Park utilizes a weir to help control the water level in Upper Lake, the park's main body of water. During the rainy season (summer) water rushes over the top of the low dam. During dry periods the area beyond the weir dries up. This is a shot of the channels leading away form the weir and the lake during early spring. While there is some water here, it is only a few inches deep.
