Description
Myakka River State Park contains several lakes and the upper end of the Myakka river. In order to control the water level in the upper lake, which is home to hundreds of alligators, a weir was installed. During rainy season water from the lake flows over the top of the concrete dam. During the dry season the weir helps keep the water level higher in the lake. This is the down river side of the weir. The calm water reflects a few puffy clouds above..
