Description
Florida's Interstate 75 runs straight through the heart of the Everglades. That section of the well traveled highway is known as Alligator Alley. Canals run along both sides of the roadway and are the home of thousands of alligators. The waterways are generally behind chain-link fences, but there are several recreational areas that let motorists get up and close with the water. This is one such area. An alligator floats at the lower edge of the water lettuce.
