Description
A local park is named for a town that once stood in the area, Woodnere. It has the normal amenities of a small community park including a nature trail along Alligator Creek. The creek is a vital part of the area's drainage. It empties into the Gulf of Mexico and is close enough to the coast that the water is brackish and the level changes with the tide. As with most water sources in this part of Florida it is home to a number of alligators. This is the beginning of the trail as it winds through the woods leading to the creek.
